Last Words

The cross is perhaps one of the most recognized symbols of the world. It has come to represent the Christian faith, and no wonder because the death of Jesus Christ of Nazareth by crucifixion was central to His mission. We are told that it was “nine in the morning when they crucified him” and that “until three in the afternoon the sun stopped shining” and that “Jesus called out with a loud voice, ‘Father into your hands I commit my spirit.’ When he had said this, he breathed his last.” In those six hours of intense agony and pain on the cross, Jesus uttered seven phrases. His last words before his death. Join us in this series as we look at these words to help us understand more of Jesus’ mission, and deeply fall in love with Him who accomplished our salvation.
